First not Windows OS.
Speed. Customization. Awesomeness. This is looking great __{{emoticon}}__

I have seen Conky do wonders, how can I ?

Heard of KDE 4, is it just a nice window interface ?
I have a 2007 notebook, will it work ? (Radeon Xpress 1100 256MB shared radeon driver)

I think it was written somewhere that I can use a better 3D driver, fglxr something... ??

Compiz and a dock: does it need KDE 4 ? are they related ??

Tried to install KDE 4 (not light), my connection stopped at 79%
the download stopped after some time, I had to start over ...
I there a way to start where I left (for future upgrades install), Can I increase the delay the install/upgrade after which a install/upgrade stops looking for a connection and terminates the download ?

PS: I learn fast (installed it about 5 times, have minimal experience ...)

It happens sometimes when Debian servers go down for what ever reason. No big deal though. Just wait a day or two and it usually sorts itself out.

I'll quit here as other members may answer your questions better, Howdy and Welcome.

What about ATI linux driver for my card would it work, anything special to enable ???

And the download stopped due ti my connection, not server. I am asking what can I do to continue after reconnecting, can I tweak the download process to wait for me let's say 5min until I reconnect ??

No Tweak required. It will just pick up where it left off. At least for me. I just restart the process.

We need a inxi -F readout from terminal to tell. Open terminal

Code: Select all

inxi -F
Hit enter key. Copy and paste readout in code tags in next post.

Here is the Debian Wiki entry for your graphics chip

.

Read up on it and decide which driver you want to use. The proprietary driver or the

driver.

As mentioned previously. You can use

to install ATI driver also. Note. If you ever upgrade the kernel in AntiX. You will have to run sgfxi again to reinstall video driver.

I run a simple Desktop with no bells and whistles. So not much help with bling.
