Hi guys.

Having cleanly installed 32-bit antiX a few times, I have not been able to successfully update the system. On all occasions, dist-upgrade has encountered two errors, both claiming that there are missing dependencies. At this stage the system was broken when I rebooted.

It was suggested by apt that I run apt-get install -f, however this broke many other things, including most of the desktop.

Since I am located in the UK, could it be the case that there is a problem with the GB and NL mirrors?

Regards.

P.S. I am using the stable version.

You will need to give more information for it to be 'fixed'.

What version of antiX are you using?
Which repos?
Which dependencies are missing?
What other things got broke?

otherwise all we can do is guess.

Thank you for your reply.

I am using antiX 15.
I am using the Jessie repos.
When I tried running a dist-upgrade I received an error which said that the version of space-fm which was installed was the wrong version.
Things which got broke included the gui for the icewm.

Regards.

It just reinstalls all packages (including grub __{{emoticon}}__ ).

If it is a"clean install", why choose antix15 now that antix16 has been released ?
I am using the Jessie repos.
IIRC, antix15 installer prompted to ask"choose testing or stable".
Does your apt sources list specifically mention"jessie"?
Now, a year after release... if the entry in the apt sources list states"testing", that would pull from stretch (not jessie) repository eh
