I installed antiX 13 beta with a 3.8.0 kernel and the nouveau graphics drivers. The 3.8.0 kernel seems very fast.

I have the 3.8.0 kernel installed and working on one of my antiX instances on my Gateway portable; I have not yet tried any of the newest kernels beyond 3.8.0 from antiX, but I do have the Liquorix 3.8.4 kernel recently installed and it works well too.

Once I get the latest antiX-13-beta1 image downloaded, I can experiment with a few more kernels; as indicated, the antiX kernels I've previously used (including 3.6.11, a few of the 3.7 versions, and 3.8.0, have all worked fine for me.

working good vs my other post with the 3.8.0 kernel on this netbook.

Will try the 3.8.6 when it becomes available.

I keep a sidux and debian kernel as a backup.

Code: Select all

$ dpkg --list | grep linux-image
ii  linux-image-3.2.0-4-amd64                3.2.39-2                           amd64        Linux 3.2 for 64-bit PCs

ii  linux-image-3.8.3-antix.1-amd64-smp      3.8.3-antix.1-amd64-smp-1          amd64        Linux kernel, version 3.8.3-antix.1-amd64-smp

I forgot which AntiX kernel version did not play nice with this desktop to cause me to switch over to sidux and debian kernels but the the 3.8's listed
play just fine with this box. I think it was a /dev/video0 issue is what caused the switch.
