1.How can i set the subtitle font in mplayer to central european or eastern european font and change the font size? when i edited the file config file of the mplayer with some commands i did find on the net it changed my font to very small.

2. Is there an linux alternative for foobar2000? i really need one because i'm used with a lot of playlists and foobar2000 it's better for me.

thanks in advance!

I didn't know vlc can play mp3s. I'll have a look on it, if it can look as foobar2000 it's a keeper.

It's an incredible little player. It's like exaile, gxine, & mplayer all rolled into one. In fact, it may have been the default player in antix if was a little lighter. Just fantastic to use. Enjoy.

It worked for me ootb. Try

settings > preferences > video > output modules > x11

If that doesn't work, try another module. One of them should work.
